The untimely and unfortunate death of Corey Haim renders this a mere pipe dream, but imagine the fun-filled romp that could’ve been: the two Coreys — Feldman and Haim — reunited to teach their 16-year-olds to drive. Of course, the teens would consist of exactly one boy and one girl — probably from different sides of the tracks — who dislike each other, probably because of some blood feud between their fathers.
The story, of course, would become a modern-day Romeo and Juliet…except in License to Drive II, the Coreys would be forced to join forces. Let’s say the teens were kicked out of driver education classes after some wild ride during the driver exams, and a judge subsequently forces the parents to take a more active role in the driver education process. Mere details, which could certainly be worked out by actual writers, I’m sure.
License to Drive II would have it all. Teen romance. Old buddies burying the hatchet. Nostalgia. Heck, even flashbacks to the original License to Drive, for all the now-aging former fangirls. It would be a smash hit.
Sadly, this mega-million-dollar idea will never come to pass.
What? Too soon?
